Great Camp Activity Choices
Children ages 6-12 (entering 1st - 6th grade for the 2008-2009 school year)

BE A SPY - Shhhh….Learn the history of spies and then create your own mystery story by the end of the week.

NEW CSI: ST. PETE - Join our forensics team and work together to solve a crime. Discover forensics of the past and the process of mummification.

CIRCUS SPECTACULAR - Local clowns and acrobats will help instruct this week where you’ll create your own circus and perform by the end of the week the best show for all.

CREATE A 3D MASTERPIECE - Use your creative talents to build sculptures of all shapes and sizes. Participants will construct relief pictures as well as free standing works of art.

CREATE WITH CLAY - Make a big mess, then create something awesome. Learn the basics of ceramics. Everyone’s work will be presented at the end of the week.

DANCE FEVER - Get into the groove and try jazz, ballet and hip hop with our dance instructor. By the end of the week, you will be the star of our show.

JEWELRY/CLOTHES DESIGN - Creative play all week long. Work with beads, jewels and fabric! Create a complete look, down to the accessories. Then star in your own fashion show!

NEW JUNIOR ARCHITECTS - Campers form their own construction company and explore how buildings are designed and built. Architecture is the name of the game. Campers design their own building and create a model for our camp showcase on Friday.

KIDS CULINARY SCHOOL -We’ll go from Easy Bake Oven fun to creating No Bake Cookies and Cakes to learning all about Organic Food and food from around the world. By the end of the week, you’ll create food displays, enter in our Kids Cooking Contest, and learn about nutrition.

MARTIAL ARTS -All levels are welcome, including entry level. Are you ready for some focused fun, YES SIR! No uniform needed. Children may purchase a uniform, but it is not required.

MUSIC MANIA - Do re mi fa so la ti do – take notes and learn them too. Learn the basics of note reading. Explore percussion instruments and build your own drum.

NEW MYSTERIES OF THE PAST - Discover the ancient world of the Incas. Build a ziggurat and learn about cultures of the past.

PAINTING AND PRINTMAKING - All kids are welcome as you learn about various painting and print making techniques, from Impressionism to Pop Art. Art work created during camp will then be displayed at the museum.

PHOTOGRAPHY - Taught by our resident Photo-Journalist, you’ll learn about color, composition and digital photography. By the end of the week, a photo exhibit will be created.

PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOS - Transportation is the focus for this camp. Learn about the importance of transport in your community.

ROBOTICS - Build robots, create inventions, and learn about the future of robotics all in one week.

SUPER SPACE WEEK - Join our resident Young Astronauts Captain and learn about gravity, space flight, and the solar system. You’ll even get to create rockets!

SUPER HERO SCHOOL - Learn the history of comic book heroes and real life heroes, then create a story and character of your own, and present your own “life saving” hero to everyone in a Super Hero Graduation by the end of the week. Make costumes too.

TREASURE HUNTER - Join us on a nature trail of fun where you’ll explore Sunken Gardens search for clues to create our own special Nature Trading Post.

WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS - From traditional sports like basketball, volleyball, baseball to unique indoor sports like bocce ball, croquet, bowling, and sports challenges like our kids-made obstacle course, you’ll keep busy. Everyone wins here!

NEW ULTIMATE FIELD TRIP WEEK - Go on a different field trip each day to museums and cultural attractions in St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Tampa and beyond. All campers meet at Great Explorations.
